In short
Your videos are edited on your own device. We keep only what is needed to run your account, and we never sell data or show ads.
EditnShip for Mac
The Mac app sends us nothing. Projects, media and API keys stay on your Mac. Media and transcripts go only to the AI providers whose keys you enter, and to YouTube when you publish.
EditnShip Web
- In your browser. Projects and media are stored in your browser's private storage. Editing, rendering and exporting happen on your device. API keys you add are encrypted in your browser and are never sent to us.
- Account. Your email, your name, and a hash of your password (it is stretched in your browser first, so we never see the password itself). We also keep sign-in sessions.
- Sync. With an account, your projects, transcripts and media are backed up to our storage (Cloudflare), so they open on your other devices.
- AI. With your own key, requests go from your browser straight to that provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, ElevenLabs). On Pro, they pass through our server, which adds our key and counts usage. We do not keep the content.
- YouTube. If you connect a channel, we keep an encrypted Google token so you can publish. Videos go from your browser straight to Google. Disconnect any time in Settings.
- Payments. Handled by Stripe. We keep your plan and Stripe customer id, never card details.
- Errors. When the app hits an error, it sends us the error message and the page address, so we can fix it.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you signed in. A temporary security cookie protects Google sign-in and expires after ten minutes. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Deleting your data
Settings → My Account → Delete removes your account, your cloud projects and your media. Projects stored in your browser stay there until you delete them or clear the site's data.
Google user data
EditnShip uses Google data only to sign you in and, if you ask, to upload videos and thumbnails to your YouTube channel. Its use of information from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
